"Fucking the Dog"

Vittorio Santoro
Split (Fragment 1 & 2)

Playing with the lack of sonority of the rooms in a psychiatric hospital and/or of a motel with no identity, where take place short and clandestine loves, Katia Bassanini (1969) produces for this show a brand new installation in the first room of the CACTicino. Dummy leather, synthetical blond hair, erotic references are her media. The techinques are different: installation, assemblage with sketches and wall drawings.

Daniel Robert Hunziker (1965) operates for the first time in Ticino with installation using common and industrial materials like glass, metal and wood. He designs in the room special and geometrical formes, which act as trompe l’oeil. His dialectical procedure aims to the creation of new architectonical and virtual spaces inside of defined rooms, like those of an exhibition hall.

Stefano Jermini (1961) presents an extremely evocating and provoking work. He kept one room of the Institution as it was left from the exhibition before, as if he would corroborate the supremacy of the nature of art on artificial creation.

Vittorio Santoro (1962) shows a work, which will be presented later on at the Kleines Helmhaus in Zurich. An interpretation audio-visual of the famous Werner Fassbinder's film "Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant". The artist from Zurich creates new the tension of a sequence out of this film dividing the image from the sound and placing both in two different rooms of the CACTicino.
