"Fake Plastic Trees" is a plaintive lament about the sameness of so much that surrounds us, cookie-cutter towns, corrupted nature and rampant consumerism. Striving for idealizations of beauty and glamour, the fake and the manufactured became the standard which we inevitably accept. What is real and meaningful is lost in a world of hype, noise and plastic stand-ins.
