 N.I.C.J.O.B.: "Das Bad", Videostill FATA MORGANA Thomas Galler (CH), N.I.C.J.O.B. (A), Josh Müller (A), Marc Hulson (GB) Fata Morgana is a group show presenting works by international artists who analyse the borderline between imaginary and reality. They create their own dream-like universe, quite disturbing for the public. The video works of Thomas Galler (CH) put ourselves in an "Albtraum", a sort of hallucination produced by the lack of oxygen at a high altitude, it leads off course to a lost of landmarks. The autrichian artist N.I.C.J.O.B. produces videos based on experimental remix of "found footage". By repeating and manipulating sequences of films and music, N.I.C.J.O.B. creates "new" films which change our classical perception of cinematographic images. Enigmatic, the photographs of Josh Müller (AU) bring together all the ingredients of suspense. Using architectural models, he builts paralysed and unreal worlds (deserted airports lost in fog "les constructions du ciel"; empty parkings) those sceneries help us to imagine weird stories. Marc Hulson paints ghosts and phantasms in toxic red. His creatures are wearing animal masks and appear between light and darkness, real and imaginary, they remind us on monsters (vampires, extra-terrestrians...) who go out at night to "play". Between appearance and disappearance Hulson's paintings can lead the public to a world where phantasm and nightmare melt together. Fata Morgana invites you to discover the work of 4 young artists, dealing more or less with the same subject, but using different media such as painting, video and photography.
