A traveling exhibition organized and circulated by Independent Curators International, New York, and curated by Robert Hobbs.


This first retrospective of the art works of by Mark Lombardi (1951-2000) presents twenty-five works, primarily from 1994 to 2000 including numerous large-scale drawings. The exhibition affirms the significance of Lombardi's art, both in terms of recent economic and political developments, and in light of new directions in drawing.


The exhibition is accompanied by a video taped interview with Lombardi, and a fully-illustrated, 128-page catalogue, published by ICI, featuring an essay and introductory text by curator Robert Hobbs, and an additional essay by Frances Richard.


"Mark Lombardi: Global Networks" is a traveling exhibition organized and circulated by Independent Curators International (ICI), New York. The exhibition was curated by Robert Hobbs, the Rhoda Thalhimer Endowed Chair, Virginia Commonwealth University. The exhibition, tour, and catalogue are made possible, in part, by a grant from The Judith Rothschild Foundation and by support from the ICI International Associates and the ICI Independents.
