 © Octavie Octavie Click for English text Jeune artiste de la Galerie Magda Danysz, Octavie, âgée de 26 ans, est photographe plasticienne et réalise des installations. Parmi les travaux qu'elle présente dans son exposition personnelle, il est possible de voir une œuvre plastique sur les poumons, fruit d'une réflexion sur le souffle et sur la représentation de l'impalpable. Ses œuvres, souvent centrées sur l'intériorité de l'homme, sont comme une exploration sensible et sensuelle de l'intérieur du corps. Octavie mélange les approches visuelle, tactile, sensible et auditive afin d'éveiller les différents sens du regardeur. La jeune artiste travaille notamment sur les thèmes du corps, de la femme, de la personnalité et de la mort. Octavie traite ces sujets difficiles en y mêlant ironie et gravité et réalise un puissant travail d'évocation, laissant le spectateur libre de mener sa propre interprétation. Comme elle l'explique: "Je cherche toujours l'ambiguïté dans mes œuvres, en plaçant un sujet drôle, insignifiant ou plein de vie à côté de sujets très graves. Il est intéressant d'aborder les problèmes des deux côtés. Cette juxtaposition presque oxymorique permet d'avoir plus d'impact sur le spectateur". Photographies et installations se côtoient et se complètent. "Si j'ai utilisé la photographie, je lui préfère les matériaux, lesquels permettent plus facilement de condenser les sentiments et l'intellect". Among the pieces she presents in her personal exhibition, there is a plastic work on lungs, that is the result of her reflection on the breath and on the representation of immaterial. Her art, often focused on human interiority, is a sensitive and sensual exploration of the inner body. Octavie mixes tactile, visual and auditive approaches in order to awaken all senses of the viewer. The topics explored by this young artist are body, woman, personality and death. Octavie handles these subjects with a mix of irony and gravity and she realises a strong work of evokation and allusion, that leaves the spectator free to make his own interpretation. As she explains: "I always seek ambiguity in my works, by placing a funny, unimportant or joyful subject, beside very serious ones. It is interesting to tackle problems on the two sides. This almost oxymoric juxtaposition makes it possible to have more impact on spectators". Photos and installations are presented side by side and answer each other. "Although I have used photography, I prefer the materials, which allow the condensation of feelings and brain more easily". |
