"Out and about" is an exhibition of emergent Canadian artists who are living or producing work in Europe, or produce work embodying notions of being "far from home". Issues of displacement, identity and space binds together the work of these independent artists.

This cross-disciplinary exhibition will encompass electro-acoustic composition, photography, painting, and contemporary video.

Emer O'Brien is an artist working with photography, and a recent graduate of Goldsmith's College MA Image and Communication program. In 2001, O'Brien received the Fuji Student award during her tuition at The London College of Fashion. Featured in "Don't Think Just Shoot" (2002) by Phaidon. A recent award winner at "The Art of Stitch 2003", a European based exhibition of contemporary textiles and embroidery.

Claire Greenshaw was born in Wales and grew up in the Canadian prairies. She received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2002. Claire currently lives and works in Toronto where she is the assistant director/resident artist at Sis boom bah! Gallery.

He is currently the managing editor of PUBLIC art journal.

Chris Kline grew up in Ontario, Canada near the headwaters of the Mississippi River. After graduating from Queen's University he attended classes at The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. His quiet, often small-scale works have generated unusual interest since 1999 when he made his professional debut. Recently returned from a residency in Normandie, France. Kline currently resides in Montreal, Canada.

Andrew McAllister is a video artist, musician, and designer. A recent graduate of Goldsmith's College, University of London. For the past six months McAllister has been locating a "modern" sublime in the contemporary urban landscape using a video-camera. Recently exhibited at Oxo Tower, London in Response/Ability and at FotoFestival Naarden, Netherlands.

Larissa Fassler is an artist, working in photography and video. Her work focuses on documenting interactions with the public through structured events. She recently exhibited in Bootleg, Spitalfields Market, and in the EV+A 2003 Exhibition in Limerick, Ireland.
