Die Ausstellung zeigt Reportage-Fotografien von Henri Cartier-Bresson und Robert Doisneau, seltene Vintage-Fotografien von Tina Modotti aus den 20er Jahren, Engadin-Bilder von Albert Steiner sowie den berühmten "Ice Skater Waiter, St. Moritz" von Alfred Eisenstaedt, wie auch Künstlerportraits von Carl van Vechten. Weiterhin werden mystische Farbfotografien von Gregory Crewdson, gemalte Werke von Giovanni Sesia, surreale Bilder von Sandy Skoglund und Roberto Raineri-Seith, Fotomontagen von Jean-Pascal Imsand, abstrakte Kompositionen von Aaron Siskind, feinfühlige Platinabzüge von Bob Tyson präsentiert, sowie auf Litex vergrösserte und bemalte Fotografien von Pablo Soria. Tief berührende Fotografien von Orlan ergänzen die Ausstellung. Die französische Performance-Künstlerin verändert ihren Körper mit chirurgischen Eingriffen ("Carnal Art"). Sie transformiert ihr Gesicht entgegen den etablierten Schönheitsstandards und hinterfragt damit die Körperdarstellung in Kunstgeschichte und Gesellschaft. The exhibition shows reportage photography by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Doisneau, rare vintage-prints by Tina Modotti from the 1920s, Engadin-pictures by Albert Steiner as well as the famous "Ice Skater Waiter, St Moritz" by Alfred Eisenstaedt, additional to portraits of great artists by Carl van Vechten. Gregory Crewdson's mystique colourprints, Giovanni Sesia's painted photographs, Sandy Skoglund's and Roberto Raineri-Seith's surrealistic images are presented along sensual photomontages by Jean-Pascal Imsand, abstract compositions by Aaron Siskind, artistic platinum prints by Bob Tyson, and on litex enlarged and painted photographs by Pablo Soria. Deeply touching works by French performance-artist Orlan complete the exhibition. Orlan disfigures her body with plastic surgery ("Carnal Art"). Transforming her face in opposition to ruling standards of beauty she questions the status of the body in art history and society.
