His vision is not about the specificity of place as much as an investigation of the relationship between the different focal points of the picture. The anonymity of some of the partially built structures and the homogeneity of architecture in others offer few points of destinction or aesthetic interest. Rather, the structures, construction sites, and backgrounds become geometric details in the larger scene that is more visually coherent as a whole entity. Only when considered in this way do the details come alive, giving the photographs a sense of almost geometric beauty and balance. Stéphane Couturier has exhibited in galleries and museums internationally.
