SAVE THE BOWERY BRING BACK CRACK. * Saint Thomas Aquinas ** Dee Dee Ramone Arturo Vega, December 2006, from the summit of Popocatepetl Ted Riederer's video, sculpture, and paintings revolve around three acts: the smashing of musical instruments, the painstaking task of weighing, cataloging and re-assembling the fragments so that the instruments can be played again, and the creation of a musical score using the resurrected guitars and drums. The band "The Resurrectionists" is comprised of musicians who are recovering punk rockers and who have performed with: Burn, Immolation, Slaughtershack, Clowns For Progress, Ryan Adams, Thumper, The Reply, Steady Earnest, The New You and Go Away Evil. Riederer received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2006 and his BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His work can be currently seen in "Altered, Stitched and Gathered" at P.S. 1/MoMA. The artist lives and works in New York. Guitars provided by Gibson Guitars.
