Indem er bestimmte Abbildungen aus der Flut massenmedialer Reproduktion isoliert, erhält er sie als beständige Bilder, die über Wahrnehmung, Geschichte und Wahrheit nachdenken. Parallel zu dieser Serie verfolgt er sein Interesse an Architektur, besonders an ornamentaler Fassadenarchitektur und moderner Betonarchitektur und erzeugt illusionistische Räume, die dem wirklichen Raum, in dem sie gezeigt werden, perspektivisch widersprechen und so auf ganz direkte, visuelle Art mit der Wahrnehmung spielen. Massstabsgetreue Darstellungen von Gegenständen wie etwa Überwachungskameras, die wie wirkliche Gegenstände im Ausstellungsraum positioniert werden und Fotoarbeiten, die Gemaltes vor dem Hintergrund des realen Aussenraums präsentieren, stellen eine weitere Ebene der Infragestellung der Ideen von Wirklichkeit und Repräsentation dar. Tim Trantenroth (geb. 1969 in Waldsassen) hat u. a. in Einzelausstellungen in Kunstruimte Villa de Bank, Enschede, Niederlande, bei Spielhaus Morrison Galerie, Berlin (beide 2005), und im Förderverein Aktuelle Kunst e.V., Münster (2002), ausgestellt. Jüngste Gruppenausstellungen fanden zum Beispiel in der Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Slupsk, Polen, und bei Arndt & Partner Zürich statt (beide 2005). Tim Trantenroth’s approach is to develop various interrelated bodies of works at the same time: His small-scale paintings from the series War on Terror borrow motifs from newspaper photos showing terrorist attacks in all parts of the world. By singling out specific pictures from the endless chain of reproduction in mass media he conserves them as steady images that reflect perception, history, and truth. Parallel, he has pursued a continuous interest in architecture, especially in ornamental facades and details of modern concrete architecture, and created paintings and drawings of illusionist spaces that contradict the real space they are exhibited in. Trueto- scale illustrations of objects like CCTV cameras, positioned in the exhibition space like real cameras, and his photographic works in which he presents his paintings against a real life background, constitute yet another level of dissolution of the ideas of reality and representation. Tim Trantenroth (born 1969 in Waldsassen, Bavaria) has exhibited among others in solo shows at Kunstruimte Villa de Bank, Enschede, Netherlands, Spielhaus Morrison Galerie, Berlin (both in 2005), and at the Förderverein Aktuelle Kunst e.V. in Muenster, Germany (2002).
