Choice of Work Title of Work

KARTA (2008) HDV 11' - Two men cross a former hospital. We are following one man until he comes across the other. Their meetings vary from distant and casual to friendly and intimate, while the building is falling apart.

TAXILA (2007) DV 9’ - The camera is overlooking an ordinary day in Taxila’s life.

CAIRO (2006) DV 12' - A young man is walking very slowly. He gets nine different faces and his movement extends over a whole set of Cairo districts. There are sudden changes from noisy traffic to silence. He comes across several isolated people.

STILL SEEING DISAPPEARED THE SAILORS (2005) DV 9’20’’ - The video shows a group of men, gathered in the hall of a public building. The men speak, laugh and observe. The rules of social behavior are disrupted by unexpected dynamics and gestures.

SONGS (N° 1 & N° 2): ALICE, ORFEU (2005) DV 4’20’’/4’00’’ - Video-Performances. Series of short videos interpreting pop/folk songs.

COME, HEAVY SLEEP (2004) DV 7’40’’ - A naked young man crosses a living room at night. The intimacy and nearness to the man’s body contrasts sharply with the view seen from outside; we are actually looking through a shop window.

PLAN FIXE / STILL FRAME (2003) DV 6’30’’ - A man faces a fundamental doubt in life. People’s confidence in the immediate reality seems shocking. Objects start to float in the air; the natural order of things is suspended.

19X BAREFOOT (2002) DV 6’30’’ - In this piece the performer is linked with a mobile camera via a nylon thread. Each of his gestures pulls the camera sideways and animates his image.

HOUSEKEEPING (2001) DV 7’00’’ - Different fragments of furniture are moving suspended in an open space. Housekeeping explores what is a home. Some create their home, some abandon it and some look for it for a lifetime.
