La Science du Bien et du Mal, 1999/2003 computerprint, perspex, polystyreen 40 x 29 cm Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven In Dreams Belgian artist Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven's artistic practice combines drawing and painting, computer-generated images and video, multi-media installations and writing. For the last five years Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven has been developping her comprehensive project "headNurse". Based on the intention to free both image and language from the restraints of a male-dominated society, the complex work often combines images of nude women, "eroticized concepts", with heavily-loaded words or terms stemming from the fields of technology as well as philosophy. The source of AnneMie van Kerckhoven's images that are being reworked digitally are old magazines. Also in her latest work "Prober5", a combination of 24 "eroticized concepts" and a video of a nude woman which was digitally reworked, the artist seeks to deconstruct the use of images, language and artistic language in particular as carriers of our social and philosophical status quo.
