Omaha Beach, 2002 20 x 29 inches Nathalie Grenzhaeuser Omaha Beach German artist Nathalie Grenzhaeuser will exhibit photography from her recent series "Omaha Beach". With this series, Grenzhaeuser explores an oft-visited theme in her work: the intersection of history and memory. Using digital techniques, she collages images of the infamous World War II site with landscapes found elsewhere that call to mind the physical and psychological wreckage of the D-Day invasion. Eerie scenes of melancholy are created through fusing elements such as golf course terrain and fencing that protects tourists while visiting Omaha Beach. A video projection and a large panoramic installation will accompany the photographs. Having exhibited widely throughout Europe, this exhibition will mark Nathalie Grenzhaeuser's United States debut.
