WonderWorld
Doraine Green, Eva Marisaldi, Annika Ström,
Aernout Mik, Deimantas Narkevicius

Reflecting on the position of art in contemporary life, "WonderWorld" hopes to convey a belief in creative identity-building consumption, as well as in a mode of production where "wondering" and "wandering" both allow us to challenge the pre-conditioned limits for our orientation. The project "WonderWorld" proposes thoughts about movement. Mobility may lead to transformation if we allow ourselves to see and accept differences.

We often long to join other people in their fantasies and to give up our own urge for control. Is this not one of the functions of storytelling and moving images, in the mind of the beholder? The cinematic world takes us out of the entity we call our "self". As images and narratives develop in front of us, we become incorporated into stories told by somebody else. We expand our fixed identities in unexpected directions. We become excited participants in the world we encounter, and tourists in the world we regard as our own.
